Automation Engineer - Welding Systems

Global robotics leader needs automation engineer with experience in advanced arc welding systems. Key responsibilities include need to develop and implement robot programs for adaptive MIG welding, as well as preparing language code; test, debug and modify programs; work with controls engineers; participate in system run-off; travel to and interface with customer for system start-up; provide specific training to customer.

The ideal candidate will possess:

• Engineering/Technology degree – Mechanical, Electrical or Welding
• 5-10 years experience in advanced Robot programming
• Knowledge of MIG welding desired
• Experience in Robotic arc welding a plus
• Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal
• Experience/Understanding of PLC controls
• Must exhibit excellent documentation practices
• Willingness to travel 30-50%
